The residential land to the left of the lagoon bounded by Brewer, Jones, Neil and Zunker Streets, referred to in the era 1920-1940 as Stoney Hill, was grazing land for Reserve families' cattle. Along with Kelly, Lighthouse and Hampson Streets, reminders of early years are retained with Streets named after some of the Reserve's personnel.
